“I need a budget,” said no contractor ever.
In 30 years of banking, not one trade contractor ever walked into my office asking for a budget… or a financial forecast… or to know their exact gross profit margin.
Zero.

I get it. I used to say the same thing in the early days of my coaching business.
I wanted more clients. I posted everywhere. Networked until my business cards ran out.
Nothing worked.
Then my mentor hit me with this:
“Patrick, business owners want to be millionaires, not financial masters.”
Ouch.
But he was right.
What I wanted: More clients
What I needed: Better messaging
That’s when it clicked:

Now I see this with every contractor who calls me:
They want more profit. → They need to know their numbers.
They want better cash flow. → They need a 12-month budget.
They want growth. → They need a 3-year roadmap.
They want the destination. → They need the map.
After reviewing 10,000+ financials, here's what I know:
The contractors who get what they want are the ones humble enough to accept what they need.
My mentor showed me that gap.
Now I do the same for contractors.
